Cereplast to Introduce New Bioplastics Resins9:00a ET June 16, 2009 (Business Wire)

Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB: CERP), a leading developer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, will present its latest bioplastics resins at NPE 2009, the International Plastics Showcase, June 22-26, at McCormick Place, Chicago. New grades of bioplastics resins exhibited will include:

Compostable 5001, a breakthrough bio-based foamable resin designed to compete with Styrofoam(R) and other foamable petroleum-based resins. This new resin is ideal for thermo-forming application, such as egg cartons, meat trays and mushroom and berries boxes. Compostable 5001 can be used on conventional extrusion equipment and can achieve a foam density of 5 lbs/cubic foot.

Hybrid 101 and Hybrid 103, bioplastics resins especially designed for durable applications and injection molding processes. Hybrid 101 and 103 are proprietary blends of polypropylene and starch.

Natural Fiber Hybrids, using natural fibers such as flax husk, rice hull, semolina and wood flour. This new family of resins offers an attractive "natural look" and provides a sustainable solution for applications like kitchenware, gardening, and toys.

Nissei America, Inc., a leading manufacturer of injection molding machines, will demonstrate the use of Cereplast Hybrid 900 at NPE 2009. The demonstration can be viewed at booth #36039.

Frederic Scheer, Chairman & CEO, and Philippe Ravera, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, will attend NPE and address attendees at several sessions on bioplastics. The Company will display at booth #W11a. For more information about NPE, please visit http://www.npe.org.
